A great place to mix things up a bit in Nagoya is the appropriately named Mixx Sound Space, which only opened in April 2015. I was lucky enough to score an invite to their launch night and the venue impressed me greatly, putting on a great show with a talented Japanese burlesque dancer.
Mixx is certainly one of the more classy joints in Nagoya so dressing up is recommended, although I have seen folks wearing fairly casual clothes get in so it doesn’t appear a requirement. The venue isn’t huge, certainly not as big as the epic ID Cafe, but I find that it attracts a refined crowd who are always incredibly fun to dance with. Recently Mixx has been hosting some K-Pop nights so if you’re a fan of Korean tunes you’ll be sure to have a good time here and also meet a bunch of Koreans with any luck! The venue is only closed on Sunday and Monday night so you can spend a great deal of time here each week if you please.
I would also suggest bringing along a nice wad of Japanese yen if you plan on partying here as it isn’t the cheapest club in Nagoya – although I definitely do believe it represents good value for money if you’re looking for a sophisticated place to party.
